Dark Entries label founder Josh Cheon is opening a record store in San Francisco, named after the label.

Set to be based at 910 Larkin Street, the brick and mortar store will officially open on Saturday, 10th December. A special launch event on that date will feature DJ sets by Carlos Souffront, Topazu and Jeremy Castillo from 6-9pm.

In an Instagram post confirming news of the shop’s launch, Cheon extended “special thanks to Mike Servito for pushing me to make this dream a reality”.

Josh Cheon founded Dark Entries in 2009, with an initial focus on reissuing forgotten and rare, as well as unreleased, music from the ’80s. It has since gone on to put out a number of new records by artists from around the world.

The label has put out a number of releases featuring archive material by the late Patrick Cowley. The latest of those, ‘Malebox’, came out earlier this month.
