Gut Level Sheffield reopens in new temporary space

Sheffield’s Gut Level is back with a new temporary space after being forced out of their previous space in July.

The queer-led DIY collective and venue introduced Gut Level 3.0, located on Eyre Street, on Instagram this weekend. The space is in a former morgue, now studio complex.”It’s got an old boozer meets DIY work den mashup feel,” the crew said,”we’re positive you’ll feel right at home here”.

The venue does not have a late license, so all events will end at 10 PM.”We’re really relieved to find a new project space, however the activity there won’t be late night focused,” cofounder Hannah Beres told Resident Advisor.”It’s a much cosier space that feels more homely in some ways than our last venue.”

Beres told RA the collective still aims to put on later parties in collaboration with other venues.”We’ll be linking up with other DIY spaces in the city that are able to host club nights,” she said.

Beres said Gut Level 3.0 will likely only last a year as there’s already plans to redevelop the space, and 4.0 will hopefully be the permanent home. Gut Level 2.0 was cut short due to plans to turn the property into flats, and the original Gut Level home at Attercliffe Arches, founded in 2019, was closed in the early stages of the Covid-19 pandemic in the UK.

More information on socials, workshops, co-working, communal meals at Gut Level 3.0 is still to come. Stay updated and learn about the membership policies via Gut Level’s website.
