Bicep have shared a new video for their single ‘Water (feat. Clara La San)’, which is embedded below.
The video has been directed by Belfast filmmaker Aoife McArdle, whose previous work includes the critically acclaimed sci-fi series, ‘Severance’. “We were ecstatic when Aoife agreed to work on this video,” Bicep said. “We’re both massive fans of hers going back years now. It is amazing to have a world-class director visually reimagine something you worked on and we are so happy with the end result.”
“I love Bicep as artists and people so it was cool that a coffee together led to making this,” says McArdle. “It’s been particularly rewarding because we’re all from the north of Ireland and I’m proud of what they’ve achieved. ‘Water’ made me think about existence. Life and death. Our endless anxieties and preoccupations, sometimes warranted, sometimes absurd. It’s more important than ever to have a sense of humour right now. [I’m] grateful to my brilliant lead actress, Angela Nwagbo, and my whole team, particularly Black Kite, for working so hard on this and, of course, Bicep for trusting me.”
‘Water’ dropped as a single in October, following on from the track ‘Mele II’. This month, Bicep embark on a major tour that will see them play Polaris festival in Verbier, Switzerland, three UK dates — Brighton, and a double-header at London’s Alexandra Palace — before heading to Australia.
