Rihanna has released her first new track in six years, ‘Lift Me Up’.

The song will feature on the Black Panther: Wakanda Forever soundtrack, which arrives on 4th November. Written by Tems, Ludwig Göransson, Rihanna, and the film’s director Ryan Coogler, ‘Lift Me Up’ was created as a tribute to the late actor and star of the first Black Panther Chadwick Boseman, who died in 2020.

Rihanna has also released an instrumental version of the track. Listen to both versions below. Black Panther: Wakanda Forever lands in cinemas on 11th November.

Rihanna’s last album, ‘Anti’ was released in 2016. This new track follows the news that Rihanna is set to appear at the 2023 Super Bowl halftime show, which will be her first live outing since her appearance with DJ Khaled and Bryson Tiller at the 2018 Grammy Awards. Prior to that, her last tour took place in 2016 for ‘Anti’.

Earlier this year, Rihanna welcomed her first child with A$AP Rocky and starred in the video for his track ‘D.M.B.’ directed and executive produced by Rocky for AWGE. Ahead of the birth of their child, Rihanna and A$AP Rocky threw what was described as a “rave-themed baby shower”.
